On October 28, 2011, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi held a telephone conversation with his South African counterpart Maite Nkoana-Mashabane. Both sides exchanged views on the upcoming G20 summit to be held in Cannes, France, as well as other international and regional issues of common concern. They pledged to make joint efforts to help make the summit a success.
