Recently, the Dutch security authorities released a report once again repeating the same old allegations that Chinese hackers will increase cyberattacks against the Netherlands by exploiting edge devices, which seriously smears China’s image. The Spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in the Netherlands has made the following statement:

The China-related content of the report is replete with falsehoods and groundless accusations. China expresses strong dissatisfaction with and firm opposition to this. China is one of the major victims of cyberattacks and has always firmly opposed and cracked down on all forms of malicious cyber activities in accordance with the law. Cybersecurity is a common challenge facing all countries. We maintain that all countries should strengthen international cooperation on the basis of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit, and jointly address cybersecurity challenges through dialogue.

China urges the relevant authorities in the Netherlands to view objectively and rationally the efforts made by China to combat cyberattacks, and stop making groundless accusations against China under the pretext of cybersecurity.
