1. Q:Who does not need a visa?

A:Nationals holding valid ordinary passports of 48countries, namely Brunei, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands,Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Australia, Poland, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Slovenia, Slovakia, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Andorra, Monaco, Liechtenstein, the Republic of Korea, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Malta, Estonia, Latvia, Japan, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, PeruUruguaySaudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait,Bahrain,Russia and Sweden are exempted from visa requirement if coming to China for the purpose of business, tourism, family or friends visits, exchange and transit. They can stay in China for no more than 30 days without a visa.

A:Foreign nationalstraveling for the purposeof business, tourism, family or friendsvisitexchangeand transit that meet the visa waiver requirementscan beallowedto enter China withoutavisaupon examination and approvalin accordance with lawby border inspection authorities.Entry into China shall be deniedby border inspection authoritiesin accordance with lawforforeign nationalswhotravel for purposesthat do not meet the visa waiver requirementsorwho are not allowed to enter China in accordance withlaws and regulations. A:The visa waiver applies to alltravelerscoming to China through any sea,road and air port open to foreign nationals(except where laws, regulations and bilateral arrangements specify otherwise).Forarrivalsin China by private transport, certain procedures for entry and exit ofmeans of transportshallbe processed in accordance withrelevant laws and regulationsof China.

10. Q: How to calculate thedurationof stay of30days?

A:The duration of stay without a visa is calculated fromthenextdayof entryand lasts for 30 calendar days.

11. Q: If the length of intended stay exceeds 30 days, can the visa waiver be extended?

A: Foreign nationals planning tostayin China for over 30 days shallapply for visascorresponding totheir purposes of stay in advance at Chineseembassiesorconsulates. Ifthey have to stay longer than 30 days for appropriate and sufficient reasons after entering China withoutavisa, they shallapply forstaypermitstotheexitandentry administrations of publicsecurityauthorities of China.

12. Q: Does the visa waiver allow multiple entries? Is there any requirementon thelengthofintervals between each entry,or any restriction on thenumber of entrieswithout a visaortotal daysof stay?

A:Foreign nationalseligible for the visa waivercanenter Chinawithout a visamultiple times.Currently,thereisno restriction onthenumber of entries ortotal daysof stay,butthose who enjoy visa-free travel to China shallnot engagein activities inconsistent with their purpose ofentry.

13.Q:Do foreign nationals eligible for a visa waiver need to make declarations toChineseembassiesorconsulatesin advance?

A:Foreign nationals eligible for thevisa waiver do notneed to declarein advanceto Chineseembassiesorconsulates before entering China withoutavisa.

14.Q: If a foreign nationaleligible for a visa waiverhas entered China but laterlosthis/herpassport, which was verified and stamped by a Chinese border inspection authority, can the foreign nationalleave China using an emergency travel document issued by the relevant foreign embassyor consulate in China?

AFor a foreignnational who has entered China without a visa and needs to exit using a new passport, emergency passport or travel document due to loss or damage of the original identity document, the Chinese borderinspection authority in charge will verify in line with the law theforeign national’sidentity, entry record or loss report, and supporting documents issued bythe relevantforeign embassyor consulate in China. If these documents are confirmed to be valid and the individual concerned has not overstayed, or committed any other illegal acts, he/shemay be allowed to exit according to the law.

If the individual has overstayed, or committed other illegal acts under the jurisdiction of the Chinese border inspection authority, the authority will handle the case according to laws and regulations.

For other violations beyond the jurisdiction of the borderinspection authorities, the individual must first be processed bythe exit-entry administration department of a public security organ or other relevant competent authorities. Thereafter, they may proceed toexitthrough the borderinspection authorityby presenting the relevant proof of resolution.
