Although separated by vast distances, China and the Netherlands share a long history of exchanges. Since the start of the new era, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and leaders of the Netherlands, the China-Netherlands relations have developed rapidly and steadily, with cooperation across various sectors continuing to deepen. China is committed to working with the Netherlands to promote communication and dialogue, uphold mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, and continuously advance the development of the Open and Pragmatic Partnership for Comprehensive Cooperation, with a view to bringing greater benefits to both peoples.

The Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has outlined the top-level design and strategic blueprint for China’s economic and social development over the next five years. China will comprehensively advance Chinese-style modernization, resolutely promote high-quality economic and social development, expand high-level opening-up and create broad opportunities for the shared development of all nations while taking on greater responsibility in promoting human progress.

As a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, China, together with the Netherlands, which is home to many multilateral institutions such as the International Court of Justice and the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, both share a firm commitment to multilateralism. China is eager to collaborate with the Netherlands to safeguard the international system with the United Nations as the center and uphold an international order based on international law. Together, we will advance the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative, and the Global Governance Initiative, contributing to the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.

The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Netherlands, along with the Permanent Mission to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, is dedicated to deepening China-Netherlands relations and fostering exchanges and cooperation in various fields. We aim to promote friendly ties between our peoples, safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese institutions and citizens in the Netherlands, and strengthen China’s cooperation with multilateral organizations based in the Netherlands.
