On June 30, the Chinese Embassy in the Netherlands and the Netherlands-China Association, jointly held a youth table tennis exchange event. H.E. Mr. Shen Bo, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, attended the event and delivered remarks. Minister Zhang Yi of the Embassy, Ms.Monique Knapen, Chair of the Netherlands-China Association, Ms.Bettine Vriesekoop, a renowned Dutch table tennis player, and Dutch young participants who will travel to China for a summer table tennis training program also attended the event.

Ambassador Shen expressed the hope that the young participants would make friends through table tennis, learn from one another through mutual exchange, and make the most of their training opportunity in China. He encouraged them to deepen their understanding of China and become participants in, witnesses to, and inheritors of China-Netherlands friendship. Noting that next year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of ambassadorial diplomatic relations between China and the Netherlands, he expressed the hope that young people would inject new vitality into the friendship between the two countries.

Ms. Monique Knapen thanked the Chinese Embassy in the Netherlands for its strong support and said that the Netherlands-China Association stands ready to continue promoting people-to-people exchanges and friendly cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador Shen kicked off the event, had cordial exchanges with the young participants, and posed for group photos with them. The event was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
