On June 5th, H.E. Mr. Shen Bo, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, visited the Dutch Research Council(NWO), and met with President Marcel Levi. The two sides exchanged views on China-Netherlands pragmatic cooperation on science and technology.
Ambassador Shen Bo stated that the two countries’ research systems were highly complementary, and should strengthen bilateral cooperation, jointly address global challenges, and promote scientific innovation. It was expected that the NWO and Chinese institutions would strengthen bilateral dialogue and further contribute to the well-being of the people of both countries and even the world.
President Levi emphasized that China and the Netherlands enjoyed broad common interests and had a sound basis for cooperation in many fields. He expressed the willingness on behalf of the NWO to strengthen exchanges with the Chinese side, and deepen the cooperation in talent cultivation, academic exchanges, and collaborative research.
The meeting was also attended by Counselor Wang Chun and other representatives.
