On 24 Nov, the celebration for the 30th Anniversary of the establishment of the friendly relationship between Shanghai and Rotterdam drew the curtain in Rotterdam. As the starting token and main activity of the celebration, Shanghai Week was opened in Rotterdam Main Library. Ambassador Zhang Jun, Rotterdam Vice Mayor Hans Vervat, Shanghai Municipal representative Mr. Huang Rong and Dutch Counsul-General in Shanghai Mr. Eric Verwaal attended the activity. Mr.Vervat and Mr. Huang delivered speeches respectively on behalf of Rotterdam and Shanghai.

During Shanghai Week, many cultural activities would be held, including Peking Opera, Shanghai film show, Photo exhibition on the World Forum Expo 2010, etc. Visitors are expected to get better understanding about Shanghai and its culture through these activities. Hence, the cooperation and relation between the two cities will be further strengthened.
