King of the Netherlands visits Shanghai and Hangzhou

Dutch King Willem-Alexander arrived in Shanghai on 27 October, 2015. On 28 Oct, accompanied by Mr. Ying Yong, Deputy Secretary of CPC Shanghai Committee, the King delivered a speech at China Executive Leadership Academy Pudong (CELAP), the Chinese national training institute for high-ranking public officials, which was. In the speech, the King emphasized that One Belt One Road Initiative is a great opportunity which is well worth cooperating with China for the whole world.

The King then visited the Shanghai Free Trade Zone and participated in a seminar on the One Belt One Road initiative, accompanied by Mr. Tu Guangshao, executive vice mayor of Shanghai.

During a visit to Chongming Island, the King focused on conservation management and recreation in the vicinity of urban centres. The King visited a special reserve for migratory birds and a model greenhouse equipped by Dutch companies.

On 29 Oct, the King visited the Alibaba campus in Hangzhou and met with CEO Ma Yun. During his stay in Alibaba, Dutch e-commerce initiatives in China was highlighted and the online sales channel 'Holland Pavilion' was officially launched.
