International Community Continues to Extend Condolence to the Chinese Side on Yushu's Earthquake Disaster (X)

A number of foreign national leaders and international organizations expressed condolence on Yushu's earthquake disaster, Qinghai to President Hu Jintao, Chairman Wu Bangguo and Premier Wen Jiabao by sending letters and telegrams or through other forms.

President of Ghana Mills extended deep sympathy and condolence to the Chinese people and the families of the deceased and admiration for the effective disaster relief of the Chinese government.

President of Sierra Leone Koroma expressed sincere condolence to the Chinese government and people and deep grief over the deceased.

President of the National Assembly of Afghanistan Qanooni expressed condolence to the Chinese side.

Lithuania's Prime Minister Kubilius extended sincere condolence to the Chinese people and the families of the deceased and expressed confidence that the Chinese people will stand together to conquer the difficulties.

Tongan Prime Minister Sevele expressed the deepest sympathy and condolence to the families of the deceased.

UN Under-Secretary General and UNEP Executive Director Steiner extended sincere condolence to the Chinese government and people.

Prior to the opening of the 83rd Plenary Session of the 64th General Assembly, all the participants stood up and observed silence for one minute for the deceased in Yushu's earthquake, Qinghai.
