On July 4, NHKBA held a dinner in Amsterdam under the theme "Energy Transition and Sustainable Development". Ambassador Tan Jian was invited to deliver a speech. Mr. Hans Poulis, Chairman of the NHKBA, Ms. Shirley Yung, Special Representative for HK Economic and Trade Affairs to the EU, and nearly 100 business people from Hong Kong and the Netherlands attended the event.
Ambassador Tan pointed out that under the great concept of "one country, two systems", Hong Kong has the distinctive advantages of enjoying strong support of the Motherland and being closely connected to the world. It has seized the opportunity of low-carbon development, striving to build a "sustainable finance hub", which will benefit the energy transition process in the region and the world. The new Dutch cabinet was sworn in recently. China is ready to make joint efforts with the Dutch side to promote the sound and steady growth of our bilateral relations. China is committed to reform and opening up, as well as practicing the concept of green development. We spare no effort to achieve the goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. There is huge space for China-Netherlands and China-EU cooperation in the field of climate change, we shall work in the same direction through dialogue and consultation to gain more win-win results.
During the event, Ambassador Tan had in-depth exchanges with the attendees on China's new measures of high-level opening-up and Hong Kong's development opportunities.
