To provide a comfortable environment and high-quality services, as from 1st May 2019, those who apply for visas to Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) or Macao Special Administrative Region (Macao SAR) of China are requested to submit visa applications via Chinese Visa Application Service Center in the Hague. The Chinese Embassy in the Netherlands will no longer accept above-mentioned visa applications directly.
Details are as follows:
1, Applicants can apply for visas to HKSAR either in the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in the Hague or directly to the Immigration Department of HKSAR. Applicants who apply for visas to Macao SAR, could do it either in the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in the Hague or through the Public Security Police Force of Macao SAR or apply upon arrival at Macao.
Besides collecting visa fees and possible urgent service fees on behalf of the Embassy, Chinese Visa Application Service Center in the Hague will also charge a service fee of 60 euro (excl.tax).
2, Dutch ordinary passport holders may visit HKSAR without visas for a short visit for up to 90 days ( for purpose of tourism, conferences, attending a competition, visiting family, business trip or scholarly communication). But if a Dutch ordinary passport holder intends to stay in Hong Kong for work, study, investment, business operation, art performance, teaching, etc., no matter how long he/she will stay in Hong Kong, he/she needs to apply for a visa. Dutch ordinary passport holders may visit Macao SAR without visas for a short visit for up to 90 days.
